Boom Logistics did the heavy lifting at (2) level crossing removals at Pakenham and Cheltenham.

The Cardinia Road, Pakenham and Evans Road, Lyndhurst projects; facilitated new overpasses over the existing rail alignment. The crew worked around the clock to facilitate installation within restricted outage windows, a key advantage of the Liebherr LTM1750-9.1 providing placement as a single crane lift positioned outside of the rail alignment. This allowed for independent establishment, and maximisation of the outage window for our client.

The Cheltenham LXRP included removal of both Park Road and Charman Road crossings with the establishment of a grade separation. The 750t All Terrain Crane provided an option unable to be achieved with other proposals; positioning to install beams over the grade separation to ultimately support the new station. The tight location involved the crane running a luffing jib configuration and placing beams ranging from 48t to 57t up to a 40 metre radius.

Nick Morris, Boom Logistics Engineering Manager said “our 750t All Terrain provides the ultimate solution when confronted with a large radius and heavy load, and crews perform very well under these types of conditions when timelines are at their most critical point.
