Boom awarded Kiata Wind Farm contract
Boom Logistics has been awarded a contract with Vestas – Australian Wind Technology Pty Ltd to provide crane and lifting services for the construction and delivery of the Kiata Wind Farm in North Western Victoria.
The Kiata Wind Farm, located 50km North West of Horsham, Victoria, is jointly owned by Windlab Limited, John Laing and landholders neighbouring the project. Vestas were awarded the project as a turnkey contractor to engineer, procure and construct the 30MW wind farm; with the project to be operating by late 2017.
Boom’s contribution to the project is expected to deliver >$2 million in revenue over a period of 10 weeks. The project will be supported by BOOM’s experienced personnel and equipment in completing full Cranage, Mechanical and Electrical Installation of the Turbines. BOOM will mobilise its high capacity 750t Crane to site in July this year to install the Vestas 3.45 MW Turbines to a height of 117m. Upon installation, the turbines will be largest in height operating in Australia.
